Introduction - Design for MR

Mixed Reality Interface and Interaction Design is unlike anything else in the world today. It involves breaking through the barriers of 2-dimensional screens and allows us to think more naturally in our native 3-dimensional world which is much harder than it sounds. It also lends to a whole new world of user experiences combining the real and the virtual worlds which can be too overwhelming if one does not know where to start. The following sections define some key rules of thumb that have helped our teams at Tesseract to take on this challenge head-on and design experiences that truly feel natural and magical and in meaningful new ways.
